i've always gone with the flow
where it took me never mattered to me
i guess that i should've known
the current was carrying me downstream

now i'm out floating in the ocean
alone, no tether leading me
home, no life boat coming for me

if i had grabbed the passing branches or
had the guts to ask for help
i could've escaped this

every opportunity
i just threw into the sea
along with my dreams and
chances of being seen

choices that i didn't make
time decided for my sake
and all i could say was
'i meant it this way'

how do you start to decide
where you want your life to go?

if you had a chance to make it better
how would you even know?

i've got an
outstanding achievement award in
waiting for my life to begin
it's not an
impressive accomplishment or even
one i ever wanted to win 
 
if there's a
chance that i can make a life worth living then i
guess it's worth another try
it's not the
happy ending i wanted but it's honest and
i'd rather not pretend that i'm fine
