Prelude To Avunculicide by Riley ( yuppiesupper.bandcamp.com )

Oh hello and thanks for coming
It’s strange to see you grown up
What are you reading? Social Psychology?
What are you going to do with that?

Don’t give me the pitch, you should’ve just walked through the door
And asked for it
The only way you’ll learn is through doing the fucking job

That’s not real, it’s an old boy’s club whilst on the other side
They’re put there by the bankers and elites
There’s the big world and the small world, and they sorta coexist,
as a giant fuck-off coin floating around in the abyss

Oh wouldn’t you know, oh wouldn’t you know, the world was flat after all

Tell me what you’ll do
If you were given the reins
And you’ll find I decide whether or not you’re right
It’s been tried before
So don’t you give me that lip
The experiment concluded before you’d even had a sip

I worked for it
I never begged for it
I walked in
And I sat him down
A handshake and suit can do a lot you know
Get that dye out of your hair and maybe you could grow

Sorry about that, it’s just that I used to believe
And then they held us all to ransom
What are we all meant to do without their privilege

Thankfully they came in and crushed em
And let us all go free
Though to this day if I hear a short a I soil myself

If you want to settle down, maybe vote for something skinny
There’s heaps of land, and you all work remote
Just get away from here, the council don’t know what they’re doing
If houses look like this, why are there junkies on the street

But people want them here, people want them here, so the tape stays in the way

Tell me what you’ll do
If you were given the reins
And you’ll find I decide whether or not you’re right
It’s been tried before
So don’t you give me that lip
The experiment concluded before you’d even had a sip

I worked for it
I never begged for it
I walked in
And I sat her down
It’d help to have a bird and split with her
Then again, you don’t look like you would want that

So tell me what you would do instead
Tell me how you’d save our necks
If the world is crumbling
Why are we all ignorant?

Tell me what you’ll do
If you were given the reins
And you’ll find I decide whether or not you’re right
It’s been tried before
So don’t you give me that lip
The experiment concluded before you’d even had a sip

I worked for it
I never begged for it
I walked in
And I sat him down
I asked him if he’d heard what you’d been doing
And that I couldn’t believe that my family raised a poof
