the sky reflected red atop the oceans wake
forgot the way
the sun turns words i say to smoke and flame

and I’ll feel much better
when I start to see
the mountains I’m climbing
leaving me

feel wind twisting through fingers
watch moving trees

stayed in today
haven’t really left since last holiday
dawns’s embrace
light’s behind the door seep around the frame
