it's all just yellow, cherry, orange paint to me
a bunch of zany pictures from tv
this frog just won a thousand bucks
he put a bowtie on that duck
i need someone to tell me what i see

you gotta read between the lines
of what the artist had in mind
maybe it's hard to tell
but if you turn it all around, flip it upside down
a new perspective to find
gotta make the meaning by yourself

i need to grasp the abstract, make it something real
cast it in concrete 'till it cracks
why are all the curtains blue?
why am i afraid of you?
i need you to tell me what i feel

you gotta read between the lines
of what the artist had in mind
maybe it's hard to tell
but if you turn it all around, flip it upside down
a new perspective to find

like i'm staring through the window
